Round Table about School Drop Out
On 14th of September 2011, in the office of Beyond Barriers organization, organized a round table on the framework of the project “Zero drop-out: Attraction and identification of vulnerable children in organized activities during summer, increase of confidence in schools and minimization of their abandonment”. Participants were representatives of government, directories and different organizations such as: World Vision, Regional Educative Directory of Tirana, Ministry of Education, “Luigj Gurakuqi” special school, Association for Women and Children, Hope and Love Association, European Volunteers of Beyond Barriers organization, etc.
The interested parties discussed about summer the school program, the results, its objectives and working methodology used. The responsible pf the Ministry of Education explained the role of the ministry and their policies regarding the children with disabilities and the integrated table. The main aim of this meeting was to come out with some conclusions and suggestions from the NGOS sectort, directed to the Ministry so they can have an overview and adapt further policies for better results in inclusion and school drop out. The role of the volunteer work in International Level (the EVS of Beyond Barriers) and in local level (Local volunteers of SHVL) was also highlited in the meeting as an appreciated work and help that they can give towards inclusion and education of children with special needs.
