The Inclusive Learning In Volunteering Experiences (ILIVE), financed by the European Solidarity Corps Programme, involves 72 volunteers from five European countries in six activities spanning 19 days each. The project provides learning experiences for young people with disabilities. It unites European Solidarity Corps volunteers in international teams for short-term interventions supporting young people with disabilities to learn in the context of sports volunteering. Focused on fostering positive learning experiences and outcomes, the initiative includes campaigns to attract young people with disabilities to volunteer in both mainstream and disability-focused sports, breaking down barriers. ESC volunteers will also design campaigns to reach out to more sports clubs & associations at the grass roots level beyond those involved in the project to invite them to offer inclusive volunteering opportunities, benefiting the community and young people with disabilities to improve their personal and professional development in the short, medium and long term.

Key components of ESC volunteer team activities include planning and implementing volunteer taster sessions, covering diverse roles in sports clubs: hospitality; event and tournament management; bookkeeping & fundraising; equipment storage & facility maintenance; communication; and coaching/officiating. Activities take place in Avilés and Salamanca (Spain), Birgu (Malta), Mechelen (Belgium), Izmir (Türkiye), and Tirana (Albania). The ILIVE project promotes solidarity and unity through volunteering in sports, contributing to the European Volunteering Capitals Candidates Community and the network of European Youth Capitals. Participating in ESC Volunteering Teams in High Priority areas aligns with their commitment to promoting values like solidarity, inclusion, multiculturalism, active learning and civic engagement.

BBA is implementing this project in partnership with Centre for European Volunteering (Lead Partner – Belgium), Asociacion Cultural En Construccion (Spain), PIYA (Turkiye), Fundacion Plan B educacion social (Spain) and Malta Council for the Voluntary Organisations (Malta).
