On February 13th, at our office premises, we successfully organized a dissemination event within the framework of the project “MEDIActive Youth – Informing the Balkans.” The event brought together a significant number of young participants who were eager to explore the results and impact of the project in promoting media literacy, critical thinking, and responsible engagement with information in today’s digital environment.

During the session, attendees were introduced to the project’s online platform, the educational materials developed throughout the project, and the self-learning course focused on news literacy, information disorder, and propaganda. Participants had the opportunity to explore these resources in practice and learn how they can be used as tools to strengthen analytical skills and encourage independent learning. Special attention was given to the ways in which young people can identify misinformation, verify sources, and better understand the mechanisms behind the spread of misleading content in both traditional and digital media.

The discussion highlighted the importance of empowering young people to critically assess information and actively contribute to a more responsible and informed media environment. Participants shared their thoughts and experiences related to media consumption and discussed the challenges they face when navigating online information, making the session interactive and engaging.

The event served not only as a presentation of the project’s achievements, but also as an opportunity to inspire further engagement and learning among youth in the field of media education. It encouraged participants to continue exploring the platform and to apply the knowledge gained in their daily lives, academic activities, and communities.

This project is funded by the European Commission and implemented in Albania by the organization Beyond Barriers.
