The final conference of the “IN TOUCH” project took place from December 11–14, 2024, in Cagliari, Sardinia, bringing together partners, stakeholders, and participants from the Western Balkans and EU countries. This event marked the successful conclusion of a project dedicated to enhancing the inclusion of young people with disabilities through innovative non-formal education tools and practices.
During the conference, the key outcomes of the project were presented, including the Manual of Non-Formal Education Activities and a Mobile App designed to improve accessibility for individuals with sensory and mobility disabilities. These tools, developed through a collaborative and inclusive approach, were highlighted as practical resources for fostering equality and participation. Workshops provided participants with hands-on demonstrations of the tools, showcasing how they can be implemented to support young people with disabilities in becoming active members of society.
The event also facilitated meaningful discussions through panel sessions, where experts and stakeholders addressed topics such as inclusive youth work practices, the importance of digital transformation, and sustainability in education. Policymakers, local authorities, and youth organizations engaged in dialogue about sustaining the project’s outcomes and integrating them into broader strategies for youth inclusion and empowerment.
The conference served as a celebration of the “IN TOUCH” project’s achievements, showcasing its alignment with EU priorities on inclusion, digital innovation, and environmental sustainability. It also provided a platform for participants to share experiences, build connections, and discuss future initiatives. The event underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing shared challenges and reaffirmed the commitment to creating more inclusive and accessible opportunities for young people with disabilities.
