From February 11-18, 2025Beyond Barriers Association (BBA) had the opportunity to participate in the CIRCLUSIVO seminar held in Llinars del Vallès, Barcelona, Spain. This unique initiative brought together 30 participants from Albania, Croatia, Portugal, Serbia, and Spain, focusing on the use of circus arts as a tool for inclusive non-formal education.

The seminar aimed to promote equal participation of youth with and without disabilities in educational and mobility programs, emphasizing the importance of accessibility, adaptability, and inclusion in non-formal education. Throughout the week, we engaged in interactive workshops, study visits, best practice exchanges, and intercultural activities, all designed to explore how circus techniques can break barriers and foster social inclusion.

As part of the Erasmus+ initiative, CIRCLUSIVO focused on identifying and overcoming physical, social, and institutional challenges that limit the engagement of marginalized youth. Key discussions revolved around adapting circus arts for inclusive education, integrating youth with disabilities into international programs, and developing sustainable practices to ensure broader accessibility in youth work.

Beyond Barriers contributed by sharing our experience in inclusive youth work, participating in group discussions, and exchanging methodologies with partner organizations. Additionally, we took part in an intercultural evening, where participants had the chance to present their cultures, traditions, and experiences.

This seminar provided valuable insights into new methodologies for fostering inclusion, while strengthening our collaboration with international partners working towards accessible and inclusive education. BBA remains committed to implementing the knowledge gained and continuing our work in promoting equal opportunities for all young people.
