In the framework of the Youth Exchange, which is currenty underway, as a highlight we can point out the Conference on improving the position of people with disabilities, with a special emphasis on young people with disabilities in society, organized by the Association of Youth With Disabilities of Montenegro (AYDM).

In the first part of the conference, representatives from the institutions and the Mayor’s office were spoke and discussed, about the postion of the people with dissabilities in Montenegro.

During the Panel discussion the participants had the opportunity to talk about youth activism, the mechanisms of involving young people in the activities of the social community.

As the main message of the Conference and previous Exchange, it can be said that young people with disabilities still face challenges due to lack of support, inaccessible environment and lack of understanding of their needs, and although the development of an application for mapping accessible locations in Montenegro has improved their position, it is necessary work on systemic solutions for complete inclusion.

He reminded that the goal of AYDM is to constantly work on improving the position of young people with disabilities, which is exactly what is being done through the In Touch project.

Through the development of a mobile application on accessible services for young people with disabilities, which will be the outcome of our project, one more step towards the independent life of people with disabilities will be achieved, both in Montenegro and everywhere.
